Our History
Starting a tree service was never in our plans. I got out of the woods at age 27 to pursue a career in the maritime trade. In Owner/Operator Dustin’s logging career he made a name for himself as a supervisor of cable logging operations at the family logging outfit in northwest Oregon. That’s where he first started climbing, rigging spar trees for logging. Dad and I did a little residential work on the side as well. It kind of came with the territory. Alas, working at the family logging outfit just wasn’t meant to be. So north we came to Ketchikan to work on tugboats. Then in December 2019 with the passing of his father we inherited the hand me down chainsaws and climbing gear. Cherished possessions he could never sell or part with. Having a couple friends that needed work he figured we might as well get a business license and liability insurance, maybe make some extra money. We unknowingly created a monster, a monster that needed fed. Feed it has. Within two years we became so busy with the tree service we no longer had to sail away on boats for weeks at a time. it has been one of the most rewarding and enlightening experiences of my life.
We had Dustin and his ground man Ian out for a couple days of tree cutting at our remote cabin. We could not have asked for a better tree falling experience - from initial contact through to final fall, Dustin was amazingly professional and competent. He answered our call, gave an initial timeline that he met, called us back when he said, took time to travel to our cabin for an assessment, only charged us for the time he spent working and provided recommendations that were never pushy. We had several very tricky trees to fall - dead or dying, leaning over structures, tops needing removal, etc. Dustin took them down as anticipated with confidence and careful planning. He is an enthusiastic arborist, skilled faller, and a very likable businessman. We highly recommend Timberscape Industries for your arborist needs. PS - A shout out to groundman Ian for all his hard, supportive work
